Chris Estrada (he/him), Organizer ​

Chris is a community organizer at LACCLA. He has a degree in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, where he conducted research in theoretical physics and independent reading in critical theory and political theory. Before joining LACCLA, he spent three years teaching math, science, and political economy to high school students and volunteered as a community organizer with the Los Angeles Tenants Union, Pasadena Tenants Union, and Democratic Socialists of America.

Gina Hong (she/they), Attorney

Gina joined LACCLA’s staff in 2018. She graduated from University of California—Los Angeles, School of Law in 2018 as a member of the Epstein Public Interest Law and Policy Program with specializations in Critical Race Studies and International and Comparative Law. 

Christine Rodriguez (she/her), Legal Assistant

Christine obtained her Master of Legal Studies at UCLA School of Law in 2024. Throughout her professional career, Christine has worked with vulnerable populations, including survivors of domestic violence and undocumented individuals. She is great at connecting with people and providing support during difficult times. Christine is a tenant organizer, member of the Rent Brigade, and is the representative of District 5 on the Pasadena Rental Housing Board.

Jo Zhou (she/her), UCLA Law Fellow

Jo graduated from University of California–Los Angeles, School of Law in 2025 with specializations in Public Interest Law and Policy as well as Critical Race Studies. She has been organizing Los Angeles tenants against evictions and gentrification since 2019.

Isaiah Feldman-Schwartz (he/him), Attorney

Isaiah has been working to defend tenants against eviction in Los Angeles since 2022. Before then, he attended Harvard Law School where he learned about community lawyering while providing legal support to anti-displacement groups in Greater Boston. 

Lydia Nicholson (they/them), Administrator & Attorney

Lydia first joined LACCLA in 2021. After their departure in 2024, Lydia’s passion for LACCLA’s work and mission brought them back to LACCLA’s staff in 2025. Lydia is a 2021 graduate of UCLA School of Law, where they specialized in Critical Race Studies and Public Interest Law & Policy. In addition to their role as an attorney, Lydia is the administrator for LACCLA.

Jacob Woocher (he/him), Attorney

Jacob is a lawyer and organizer born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a dual J.D. and Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning. He has been an active tenant organizer since 2017.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

LACCLA’s Board of Directors is made up of activists, organizers, and community members who are committed to base-building and organizing to win.  LACCLA’s board members come from a variety of organizing traditions and backgrounds that allow them to contribute unique and essential skills to LACCLA’s mission of tackling housing insecurity caused by racialized capitalism and organizing to end exploitation while building the world we want to see.
